Marriage entries increasingly showed more details as time passed and for some parishes separate Bann books survive. Very often one of the couple did not live in the parish very long before marriage and where the register indicates this our transcriptions record it.
Very often the couple would stay in the parish after marriage especially in earlier years but many would go to live in the parish of one of the couple. As a result the place the married couple settled after marriage may not have been the parish they were married in. A good test is to look for a birth connected with the couple.
